I'm Jon Kelly. I founded JKL Agile to work with product, technology and transformation leaders on the harder question: not which framework, but how value actually flows through the organisation—and what to change so it flows better.

My background is engineering. I've spent more than 15 years across delivery, coaching and enterprise transformation, working with organisations that operate multiple tribes, value streams and product lines. The work has always sat at the join between strategy, product, engineering and delivery.

What I find most useful—and most often overlooked—are the conditions that shape performance. Work in progress, dependencies, structures, policies, decision-making, feedback loops. Small changes to those conditions usually move the system more than another framework rollout.

I take on a small number of engagements at a time. The goal is always sustainable capability transfer, not a long consultant tenure. If your internal coaches, RTEs and delivery leaders can diagnose and improve their own system after I leave, I've done my job.

I combine practical experience with evidence, systems thinking and honest coaching conversations. I try to say the useful thing rather than the comfortable one.

What I care about

A few things I believe about this work.

  • Agile is not the goal.

    Better customer and business outcomes are. Agile is one useful means, not an end.

  • The system usually beats the individuals.

    Structures, policies and incentives shape behaviour more than exhortation.

  • Evidence changes conversations.

    Flow and outcome measures shift decisions in a way that opinions rarely do.

  • Capability outlasts consultants.

    The best engagement leaves the organisation more capable, not more dependent.

  • Say the useful thing.

    Senior leaders are paid for honest reflection, not comfortable reassurance.
